I have always loved making art. I have Master’s Degrees in Painting and Art Education, and taught art and photography in Georgia and Pennsylvania before moving to Asheville, North Carolina. I’ve shown my work professionally since 1999, participating in numerous juried art shows throughout the country and have received several awards for my paintings.

Oil paintings and Watercolors

My oils and watercolors are landscapes inspired by scenes I have encountered in my hikes and travels. I try to capture the atmosphere of the places I have experienced in my paintings. I work in oils on canvas or wood panels with brush and pallet knife, and usually begin my watercolor paintings using a wet-in-wet technique, which is a spontaneous and joyful process.

Fantasy Landscapes

These surreal or fantasy oriented artworks begin by marbling paper or canvases with ink on watercolor paper or oils on canvas. The shapes and colors created in the marbling process suggest images to me that I allow to emerge and develop, painting scenes that evoke another reality.

Sundries and decorative arts

Table runners, trivets and potholders include a layer of heat proof batting to protect your table and hands, and can be custom designed in any theme you’d like. Wooden boxes are hand painted and finished in oils and acrylics.
